Beta Delta Sigma Math Club – If you love Algebra, Geometry and Calculus (oh my!), then join the Beta Delta Sigma Math Club at FLVS. Members participate in math competitions and tutor other students in Algebra 1.

Book Club – Do you like to read?  Always wish you had friends to talk about those amazing books you read?  It looks like this club is a match for you then!  The Book Club will read three books each school year and will provide a way for you to discuss all the aspects of the novel.  Join if you want to participate in games with a literary theme, analyze characters, predict twists, or just discuss a good story!

Chess Club – If you love playing chess all the time, enjoy playing occasionally, or just wish you knew how to play or play it better, then this club is for you. Rooks Nook Members meet to learn techniques and tips to become a better chess player. Then, members participate in the most exciting part of the meeting…playing chess!  This club is a member of the United States Chess Federation and plays ranked games and tournaments.

Creative Writing Club – If you love to write, then we have the club for you! Join the FLVS Creative Writing Club and chat with others about your latest work. Learn how to improve your writing, tips for getting published, and more.  Students also participate in month long national writing experiences like National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo).

Fine Arts Club – Have you been bitten by the theater bug? Were you singing before you could talk? If you have an interest in music, drama or art, then this club is for you. FITT Club – FITT stands for Frequency, Intensity, Time and Type. Staying fit is not only important - it is fun! And fitness is more than just exercise. Our mission is to educate and promote healthy lifestyle choices for all family members through exercise infused with technology.

Future Business Leaders of America – FBLA is a club that is open to all FLVS Full Time students who are home schooled or who attend a public/private school that does not have an active FBLA chapter. FBLA is a local, state, and national organization and is the oldest and largest career and technical organization in the nation for students preparing for careers in business leadership. FBLA prepares students for "real world" professional experiences. More than a quarter of a million students in 6,000 schools participate in this organization.  FBLA provides travel opportunities, challenging competitions, scholarships and prizes, leadership development, community service experience, friendship, and fun.                                                                                Application deadline: December 1st

History Club – History is created every day so join the Florida Virtual School History Club! We are planning activities like field trips to historical sites, book and movie discussion groups, talks with authors and historians, and so much more. International Club – Are you looking for a different and exciting student experience? Do you like meeting new and interesting people? Does the idea of expanding your horizons into the global community sound interesting to you?  The FLVS International Club’s goal is to create a student centered atmosphere around the cultures that we share. Activities of this club are designed to celebrate and promote an understanding and respect for the diverse cultures, languages, and heritages of the students in our school, local communities, and beyond.  We hope to explore virtual and face-to-face field trips this upcoming year!    Application Deadline: October 31st

Latin Club – The FLVS Junior Classical League (Latin Club) is open to all students who enroll in Latin. All Latin students are encouraged to join! Members have the opportunity to compete on the regional and state levels against students from all over Florida. The JCL provides leadership and scholarship opportunities on local, state, and national levels. There are four national tests and live documentary session given each month for interested students.  By joining the FLVS JCL, students automatically become part of the National Junior Classical League. There are over 50,000 members in approximately 1,200 chapters, located in almost every state and in several foreign countries. Established in 1936, the organization seeks to promote the study of Latin and Greek, to benefit students and teachers alike, and to impart an understanding of the debt of our own culture to that of classical antiquity.    Application Deadline: December 31st

Model United Nations – Do you like meeting new people, traveling to new places, debating real world topics, making a change in the world? Then FLVSMUN is the club for you!  Model United Nations is an authentic simulation of the U.N. General Assembly and other multilateral bodies. FLVSMUN teaches students how to use 21st century skills to address real world problems using collaboration, digital literacy, writing, diplomacy, and debate.  As a member of the club you will travel around the state to attend Model United Nations conferences and discuss issues that affect your generation and future generations.  FLVSMUN is a great extracurricular activity for college bound students.  The club organizes the annual FLVS Human Rights Day and attends Model United Nations Conferences around the state. You will learn how to use 21st century skills to address real world problems using collaboration, digital literacy, writing, diplomacy, and debate.    Application Deadline: October 31st

National English Honor Society – The only online chapter of the National English Honor Society, the FLVS Cyber Scholar Chapter, consists of sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have completed English 1 with a 3.0 or above, who have an overall GPA of 3.0, and, of course, have a love for language arts! Members of NEHS serve as tutors in the English tutor room, which is available to FLVS English and Language Arts students. The club also hosts several online book discussions, the African American Read In, and other fun events throughout the year.

National Honor Society – The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students.  More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.  It is estimated that more than one million students participate in activities of NHS and there are chapters in all 50 states, as well as many US territories.  Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.  Only open to FLVS-FT Students.

Newspaper Club – Most high schools have a student newspaper. Why should FLVS be any different? We certainly have stories to tell. Our students come from a variety of interesting backgrounds and we have the advantage of technology. FLVS Newspaper Club students publish News in a Click, our online newspaper.  Our meetings consist of a journalism topic discussion, collaborative writing session, or brainstorming article ideas. You will also work with our student editors, who will help you refine your piece before it is finalized and published. We need reporters and photographers on our staff, so apply today!    Application Deadline: October 31st

Peer Tutors – Peer Tutors volunteer one or more hours a week to assist other students with concepts in varying levels of math or science.  They also help other students develop good study skills.  You must have a microphone and speakers (or a headset) and commit to at least one hour per week of tutoring.  You also must have completed the subject(s) you wish to tutor and be one subject ahead.  Come help other students be successful while reinforcing your own knowledge of course material!  Enhance your communication skills while earning community service hours and building your resume!

Science Club – The Science Club is an exciting way for all students, even those not currently enrolled in a science class, to learn about science.  Come enjoy exciting discussions, live online experiments, and field trips.  All members are welcome to participate in the Science Olympiad, Science National Honor Society, and the Virtual Science Fair.

Science National Honor Society – The National Science Honor Society is open to juniors and seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Students should be enrolled in or have taken at least two Honors or AP science courses during or prior to the school year in which they join the club. Members will work with the FLVS Science Club on Science Fair, Science Olympiad, and other science events.

Spanish Honor Society (Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica) - The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (SHH) is an honor society sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.  The mission of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is to recognize high achievement in Spanish and Portuguese and to promote interest in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian studies.  Any secondary school student who has maintained an honors average in the study of Spanish or Portuguese for a minimum of three semesters and is in the 10th grade or higher is eligible to be a member.  Open to students in FLVS-FT who are taking or have taken Spanish 2 and Spanish 3 Honors.

Spanish Nuts at Play (SNAP) – This Spanish Club encourages authentic Spanish experiences to practice the language and helps students develop a cultural awareness among Hispanic and American cultures in the United States and abroad. All levels and fluencies of Spanish are welcome! Meeting times are flexible and all are recorded to view at your convenience. Some activities include: preparing an authentic Hispanic dish, learning a Latin style dance or song, Spanish media, featured celebrities, field trips, learning about Spanish-Speaking countries and language differences, pen-pals, special guests, games, leadership opportunities, tutoring, and making AMIGOS!

Speech & Debate Club – Let’s get ready to DEBATE! If you want to develop your public speaking skills and learn how to effectively make your point clear, you should join the Speech and Debate Club. Student Ambassadors – Are you an FLVS fan?  Do you enjoy telling others about your experience?  Are you interested in trying out new courses?  Would you like to learn how to be a Blackboard Collaborate moderator and presenter?  You might be interested in being a FLVS Student Ambassador!  Come spread the FLVS love with us!  You must have all A's, B's, or C's in your coursework at FLVS both presently and in the past.  You must have taken at least one FLVS course in order to be eligible to become an ambassador, as well.

Teen Driving Club – Understand that the main purpose of driver education is to help you learn the skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed for greater safety both as an operator of an automobile and as a pedestrian. The mission and purpose of the FLVS Driver's Education Club is to create a safe driving environment for teens! The Driver's Education Club is a brand new club at FLVS. Please fill out an application to be part of the original group that will establish the mission and by-laws of the club. We are going to work together to help teens learn the skills and attitudes needed for driving safety not only as a driver, but as a passenger. We will work to create public service announcements around the state on how to drive distraction free.
